Lush - Ladykillers

Lush did initially go through a somewhat shoegaze/dreampop period (which is another discussion for another tumblr at some stage), but in the later Ladykillers Lovelife album days they were riding on the crest of the Britpop wave with this very perfect indie pop single.

These seem to be the lines that I found most of my girlfriends piping up to with a somewhat confronting degree of volume, intensity and sincerity:

I’m as human as the next girl
I like a bit of flattery
But I don’t need your practiced lines, your school of charm mentality so
Save your breath for someone else and credit me with something more
When it comes to men like you
I know the score
I’ve heard it all before

So, where are you Miki, my other hairstyle icon of days gone by?
